Please read the following information relating to the recording of Professional Learning.

Drum Effect’s beginner and experienced courses are accredited by the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI). If you are undertaking one of these courses as TQI accredited Professional Learning (PL), please be aware that you are required to attend a minimum of 7 classes in the 9-week term to have your attendance recorded as accredited PL. If you anticipate any problems with this, or if this becomes a problem during the course, please let the class teacher know as soon as possible.

  • If you attend all 9 classes, you will earn 11 hours of accredited PL.
  • If you attend 8 classes, you will earn 10 hours of accredited PL.
  • If you attend 7 classes, you will earn 9 hours of accredited PL.
  • If you attend less than 7 classes, you will not earn accredited PL and as per the TQI rule, you are not able to record your attendance at the accredited course as Teacher Identified PL.

Please note that you can only earn accredited PL for one 10-week course during 2016 and 2017.

Terms and Conditions

By registering for Drum Effect’s classes you agree to the following:

  1. The dates, times and fees for Drum Effect’s classes are advertised at www.drumeffect.com.au (with the exception of the advanced drumming class for which invited students will be emailed class information).
  2. Enrolment priority is given to students paying a term fee (over those wanting to pay a weekly fee at each class) and placements are secured as term fee payments are received. Class sizes are limited and depending on the number of term fee paying students enrolled, weekly fee paying positions may be available – you can register your interest in being notified of a vacant weekly fee paying position.
  3. In the unlikely event that a class has to be cancelled or rescheduled, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible. If you have paid a weekly fee for the cancelled class, the weekly fee will, at your option, be credited towards another class or refunded in full. If you have paid a term fee for the cancelled class, a portion of the term fee will be refunded to you.
  4. Unless a class is cancelled, fees paid are non-refundable (once the term has commenced) and non-transferable. Class fees cannot be used for other Drum Effect products and services, such as drum purchases. Please see Drum Effect's Fees & Refunds Policy (available from www.drumeffect.com.au) for more information.
  5. An additional charge applies for students who need to hire a drum. You will need to indicate at the commencement of each term if you want to hire a drum. A drum will be brought to each class for you to use during the session. If, for any reason, you no longer need to hire a drum (eg. you purchase your own) please advise Drum Effect (via phone, SMS or email) prior to the next class. If you are a drum hirer and cannot attend a class, please advise Drum Effect prior to 3pm on the day of the class.
  6. Audio recording during Drum Effect classes is permitted. Video recording is not permitted unless the class teacher specifically gives permission. Any audio or video recordings may only be used for personal, non-commercial use.
  7. Drum Effect may take photos or sound/video recordings during classes for use in Drum Effect’s promotional material.
  8. To the extent permitted by law, Drum Effect excludes liability to you (including for negligence) for any injury, loss or damage you suffer or incur as result of participating in Drum Effect classes.

WARNING: Drumming, particularly indoors, can be very loud and can cause hearing damage. It is recommended you use ear plugs at all times when exposed to drumming.
